Confident Stitching for Kids -- Intro To Sewing for Ages 7 to 15

Is your child curious about how to sew? Let them learn the basics of machine stitching while making a stuffed toy. In this class, participants will learn how to set up and thread their machine and how to wind a bobbin. We'll practice stitching straight seams, corners, and curves to make a fun stuffed toy to bring home. Space is limited.

  • Sewing machine manual (search online for a downloadable copy if yours has gone missing)
  • Sewing kit (at a minimum:  sharp scissors, hem gauge or small narrow grid ruler, pins, extra machine needles, and a seam ripper)
  • Scrap fabric for stitching practice (must be woven and non-stretchy like quilting cotton, muslin, or an old pillowcase)

If you have questions about what to bring, please ask a store associate to contact the instructor for help.
