Sew Together Bag
The Sew Together bag is a fantastic little bag that can be used in so many ways. You can use it to carry your sewing supplies; it will hold a rotary cutter, 8” scissors and lots of notions. It is also a perfect bag for travel or just a day- to-day bag that will hold your phone, keys, money/credit cards and so much more! It has 3 zippered pockets and four open pockets that are all held together with one long zipper that forms two side handles. Finished measurements are 10” x 5” x 5”. You will learn techniques and tips that make this bag fun, fast, easy to make…..and addictive!
Class level is intermediate. You will need basic sewing skills; experience inserting zippers is helpful but we will walk you through it!

Fabrics
-
Bag Exterior: 1 fat quarter (18” x 22”)

Pocket Lining: 1/3 yard x width of fabric
-
Binding: 1 fat quarter (18” x 22”)
-
½ yard of fusible lightweight interfacing

1 – 18” x 22” piece of fusible fleece
-
Supplies (note: we will not be adding the optional pincushion or needle landing in class)
-
1 – 18” zipper
-
3 – 9” or longer zippers – I like to use a longer zipper and cut it down – it prevents accidentally sewing over the metal zipper stop!
-
Scissors, seam ripper, pins, fabric chalk or marker, thread and bobbins to match your fabrics.
-
Narrow zipper foot - important
-
Optional: Walking foot if you want to do free motion quilting on the bag exterior. A regular foot is fine for basic quilting and looks great!
