Custom Layered Fabric Portraits with Leo Ransom



Turn a cherished photograph into a stunning textile masterpiece! Join local quilt artist Leo Ransom of Lion’s Den Quilting for a one-day workshop on creating custom fabric portraits of your loved ones.


Using just 3 to 5 carefully selected fabrics, Leo will guide you through his signature technique of precision cutting, positioning, and building intricate layers to bring your portrait to life.

Important Detail:

  • Photo Requirement: To give Leo time to prepare a custom pattern from your image, participants must email 4–5 photos of their chosen subject to info@notyourmamasquiltstore.com by Sept 4th.

Supplies:
5-7 gradated fabrics from light to dark (fat quarters will work)
1 1/2 yards of Trans-web, Heat N Bond Lite or Feather Lite (double sided fusible).
Small Pointed Tip Scissors (Kai N5000 series with a curved tip recommended)
Fine Point Sharpie or Ink Pen
Straight Pins (Applique, Dressmaker or Sequin Pins)
Pattern set required for class (supplied by the instructor)
Small Foam Core Board (that will accommodate an 18" x 22" Fat Quarter)
Finger Stiletto
