Folded Star Table Topper

Learn to:

Easily turn an applique, embroidery or fabric panel into a show-stopping centerpiece. By using folded fabric triangles called prairie points, and with help from the template included with the pattern, your table topper comes together surprisingly quickly and is nearly foolproof!

 

Supply List:

PLEASE PURCHASE ALL SUPPLIES PRIOR TO CLASS

Point of View, Folded Star Table Topper Pattern
A center fabric motif that is either 9½”-11” diameter or 11”-12” diameter
If your motif is 9½”-11” diameter, choose 5 - 1/3yd. fabrics for prairie points
If your motif is 11”-12” diameter, choose 4 - 1/3yd. fabrics for prairie points
1 fat quarter for binding
1 fat quarter for backing
12” x 24” batting
Roxanne Glue Baste (in a little bottle)
By Annie Stiletto or Purple Thing
Clover Press & Roll or mini iron w/ ironing mat
Invisible Thread (to be used with regular thread in the bobbin that matches your backing).
Coordinating threads to match fabric (for top stitching) or use Invisible thread

Class prep:

Please complete all prep as there will not be time in class to prep

Precut all 1/3yd. fabrics according to pattern cutting instructions on pg. 1, step 1, as follows:


* Cut 18” x 18” square for backing from the selected Fat Quarter.
* From each of the 4 or 5 fabrics (one for each round of prairie points), starch, press, & then cut (16) 5" x 5" squares.

No need to go to step 2 yet.

Make Prairie Points with cut pieces as directed on pg. 2.



Supplies to bring to all sewing classes:

Sewing machine w/ electric cord & foot pedal
Sewing machine manual
Sewing machine needles
Spare empty bobbins
Rotary Cutter (45mm is great)
Thread
Scissors & Snips
Seam Ripper
2 Rulers (at least 6” x 12” and 5” x 24”)
Heat Resistant straight pins (longer is better)
Flower Head straight pins (heat resistant is best)
Fabric marking pen or pencil, disappearing
Clover fabric clips
Post-it notes/note pad & pen/pencil

Requirements: Cancellation Policy Thank you for signing up for a class at Not Your Mama's Quilt Store. Due to the high number of late-notice cancellations, our cancellation policy has been updated: In the case that you are unable to attend the class, you must cancel at least 5 days prior to class date for a FULL refund*. If you cancel 4 days prior to class, there is a 50% forfeiture fee deducted from your class fee. You may choose to transfer to another class if available, with a $20 transfer fee plus additional registration fee if applicable. If you cancel 3 days or less prior to class, your class fee is 100% forfeited. Transfer to another class is not available with less than a 3 day cancellation. *If you paid for a class via PayPal or Credit Card and later need to cancel, a 10% cancellation fee will be deducted to cover service fees charged by PayPal and the credit card processing company.
