Fashionable and cute, these spacious zippered bags in two sizes will hold a variety of items or your favorite mini or regular-sized household iron. Also doubles as a cute and functional purse.

We will be making the large bag. Finished Size: 9½"H x 13¼"W x 7"D (sized to carry most regular-sized irons)

Supplies:
Walking Foot for your specific sewing machine (*important*)
Long ruler, at least 5" x 24". Should have angle (30°, 45°, 60°) lines printed on ruler
Disappearing/Iron Away ink to mark quilting lines. If you have dark fabric, make sure you can see the ink lines for your markings. Check this prior to attending class.

1 yd. Main fabric (body, outer pocket)
1 yd. Lining fabric
1 yd Coordinating fabric (binding, handles, inner back slip pocket)
Soft and Stable, 36" x 58"
3/8 yd Fusible Interfacing (Shapeflex, SUP 179)
5" x 21" Mesh Fabric
1 1/4 yd Fold Over Elastic, 20mm
(1) 24" single-slide zipper OR Zipper by the Yard
(1) 40" double-slide zipper OR Zipper by the Yard
2 3/8 yd PolyPro Strapping, 1" width
(2) 1" Hardware - D Ring (Nickel, Antique Brass, or Black)
Base Stabilizer 5 3/4" x 12"
Walking Foot for your specific sewing machine (*important*)
Matching threads to quilt your bag and finish trims. This thread will show on the outside & inside of the bag. You might need 2/3 colors of thread to match your different fabrics
Basic Sewing Supplies:
Sewing machine w/electric cord & foot pedal
Sewing machine manual

Spare empty bobbins
Rotary Cutter (45mm is great)
Thread
Snips or little scissors
Seam Ripper
2 Rulers (as least 6" x 12" and 5" x 24")
Fabric marking pen or pencil
Heat Resistant Straight Pins (longer is better)
Flower Head Straight Pins (Heat Resistant is best)
Clover Clips
Post-it notes / note pad / pen or pencil to take notes if needed
Homework before class:
- Pre cut all project pieces for large bag prior to class. (Note that the large bag measurements are in parenthesis in the pattern.) There is no time in class to shop or cut/prep.
- Use labels on page 15 of pattern to label all cut pieces.
- Make a copy of Large Template on page 17 of the pattern. Bring template to class.

Skill Details:
This bag class is best suited for the very confident bag maker or intermediate bag maker. It is not suitable for a beginner bag maker.
