Is free-motion quilting a scary prospect for you? Why not try ruler quilting? Ruler quilting on your home machine is a great way to let your quilting shine on your quilt!
This class is the introductory class to Westalee Rulers, showing you how to set up your machine and commence sewing with the 12" Arc Template. After plenty of practice, we will be making the following block in class:
-Sewing Machine* and manual (*need to be able to lower feed dogs on the machine you bring)
-Sew Steady extension table (fits your machine, available to order in-store, NEED TO ORDER 3 weeks prior to class) or Sew Ezi table with acrylic insert
-Westalee ruler foot with 12" arc template, and stable tape (comes in package) (available in-store)
-Westalee spacing gauge (available in-store)
-8" piece of ~1/4" colorful ribbon
-Schmetz 90/14 Topstitch needles for your sewing machine (available in-store)
-Water-eraseable pen (not air-eraseable, available in-store, please test on scrap before class)
-Tweezers that can grip thread
-dark thread and light-colored bobbins
Optional: 12.5" 8-pt Cross-hair grid (by Sew Steady, available in-store)
Optional: Machinger's gloves
2 SOLID DARK fat quarters (18" x 22", bottom of mini-quilt sandwiches)
2 SOLID LIGHT fat quarters (top of mini quilt sandwiches)
2 cuts of batting (18"x 22")
HOMEWORK BEFORE CLASS:::
Layer batting between sets of Fat Quarters and baste using a method of your choice (hand-baste, spray-baste, or pin-baste) BEFORE coming to class --> Makes two mini-quilt sets (light on one side, dark on the other)
*Please take a moment to clean out your bobbin area of your sewing machine prior to class.

In the case that you are unable to attend the class, you must cancel at least 5 days prior to class date for a FULL refund.
If you cancel 3-5 days prior to class, there is a 50% forfeiture fee deducted from your class fee. You may choose to transfer to another class if available, with a $20 transfer fee plus additional registration fee if applicable.
If you cancel less than 3 days prior to class, your class fee is 100% forfeited. Transfer to another class is not available with less than a 3 day cancellation.|
