A fun and versatile bag because it can be modified to fit your taste!
Supply List. Please purchase and cut prior to class date. There will not be time to shop or cut the day of class. Bring all supplies and prepped fabric to class.
Exterior fabric 1/2 yd
Lining fabric 1/2 yd
Accent side fabric 1/2 yd
Side pockets & strap 1/2 yd
Fusible woven interfacing 1 1/2yds
14mm magnetic snap (optional)
2 5" or longer zippers (optional)
Marking pen - disappearing ink/water soluble/iron out
Sewing machine w/ manual
New 80/12 sewing needle in machine
Pinking shears
Daisy head or pearlized head straight pins
Coordinating thread. The thread will be seen on the outside of the bag too.
Basic sewing kit: seam ripper, scissor snips, needles etc...
PRIOR to class
from the pattern sheet inside the pattern bag, cut fabrics & interfacing for your bag AND the additional pieces as noted on the pattern page.
If their cutting instructions are a little confusing, this is what you need to cut:
Exterior
*2 Main Center Design (the face part in the sample above)
*2 Side Pieces (the navy blue side pieces in the sample above)
*2 Small outside pockets (the red outer pockets in the sample above)
*1 6" x 26" (or longer) piece for the strap. This is cut to match the small outside pockets or choose any color you want.
Interior Lining
*2 Main Center Design. The pattern states to use the same fabric as the exterior side pieces (navy blue in the sample above) or any color you want.
*2 Side Pieces. The pattern states to use the same fabric as the exterior main (the faces) or any color you want.
*2 Small outside pockets. This is the lining for the two small outside pockets. Cut them in any color you want.
*2 7" x 7" squares to make an interior pocket. This can be from any color you want.
IF you are including zippers, cut:
* 4 5" x 7" squares in any fabric you want. If no skip this piece.
Interfacing:
*2 of the main body shape. Iron this to the EXTERIOR bag pieces
*2 of the side pieces. Iron this to the EXTERIOR bag pieces
*2 of the outside small pockets. Iron this to the EXTERIOR bag pieces
*2 5" x 7" if adding zipper pockets. If not, skip this piece. Iron this to 2 pieces of the 5" x 7" cuts
*1 7" x 7" for inner pocket. Iron this to one of the 7" x 7" pocket pieces
*1 6" x 26" (or longer) for strap. Iron this to the fabric strap
*2 2" x2" for snap reinforcement. Hold for class.
